This product, manufactured by brand ‘Lindt’ under its ‘Lindor’ range of products, is ‘Chocolate Truffles’ in ‘Pistachio’ variant.
Described on its outer packaging as: “Milk Chocolate Truffles with a smooth melting Pistachio filling”; the product’s list of ingredients is as follows: Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Vegetable Fat (Coconut, Palm Kernel), Whole Milk Powder, Cocoa Mass, Skimmed Milk Powder, Lactose, Anhydrous Milk Fat, Pistachio Paste (1.3%), Emulsifiers (Soya Lecithin), Flavourings, Barley Malt Extract.
May contain Hazelnuts and other Nuts.
Further, it has been specified that the ‘Milk Chocolate’ contains: ‘Cocoa Solids’ 32% minimum, ‘Milk Solids’ 21% minimum.
The ‘resealable’ pack I received contained a total of 16 individually-wrapped and labelled ‘Truffles’ in ‘vibrant’ green-coloured foil paper.
When unwrapped, each of the ‘Truffles’ constituted appropriate portion size.
Upon taste, the ‘Milk Chocolate’ itself came across as creamy, ‘rich’, and ‘decadent’. With a lingering aftertaste, it was, certainly, of high-quality.
The ‘filling’ encased within the ‘Milk Chocolate’ was ‘white’ in colour. When bitten into, it initially delivered on a ‘creamy’ mouthfeel. Gradually, one could experience the distinct ‘nutty’ flavour and slight ‘saltiness’ in parallel as associated with ‘Pistachio’. Sporadically, a ‘grittyness’ was noticeable, as the case when consuming ‘Pista’ in its actual form. The ‘Pistachio’ was, in my own experience, quite comparable to ‘Pista’ as experienced via innumerable food products manufactured and sold across India.
Even though the list of ingredients mentioned the usage of ‘Flavourings’ (not explicitly), the ‘Pistachio’ did not come across as ‘artificial’ or off-putting at all.
Since the product does not contain ‘Kunafa’ or ‘Kataifi’ in any form, it should not be interpreted as the brand’s version of the ‘viral’ ‘Dubai’-style ‘Chocolate’. To the best of my knowledge, the brand currently does manufacture a separate product labelled as ‘Dubai’-style ‘Chocolate’.
The product’s outer packaging specifies that the ‘Truffles’ are ‘highly meltable’, thereby necessitating ‘refrigeration’ prior to consumption. Irrespective of the ‘Truffles’ consumed straight out of the refrigerator or allowed to come to room temperature prior to consumption, the flavour combination of ‘Milk Chocolate’-‘Pistachio’ offered is bound to impress one’s taste buds.
Overall, this product is worth the purchase.
