This product is ‘Meiji’ ‘Hello Panda’ biscuits in ‘Milk’-flavoured cream variant.
While the product is, across online shopping platforms in India, currently, being sold as ‘Vanilla’ variant, neither the actual outer packaging, nor the list of ingredients of the product, imply the presence of ‘Vanilla’. In my humble opinion, this error ought to be rectified at the earliest.
The product’s list of ingredients is as follows: Wheat Flour, Sugar, Vegetable Oil (Contain Antioxidant BHA), Shortening (Contain Antioxidant BHA), Whey Powder, Lactose, Leavening Agents (Ammonium Bicarbonate, Sodium Bicarbonate), Salt, Seasoning (Contain Flavor Enhancer (Disodium Inosinate, Disodium Guanylate), Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein), Malt Extract, Vegetable Emulsifiers (Soy Lecithin, Sucrose Esters of Fatty Acids), Synthetic Milk Flavor, Natural Caramel Color (I), Processing Aids (Protease Enzyme, Papain Enzyme).
Contain allergens, see bold printed ingredients: Wheat Flour, Whey Powder, Lactose, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Malt Extract, Soy Lecithin.
A single pack in its entirety, apparently, constitutes a serving as per ‘Nutritional Information’ stated on the outer packaging of the product. Its total calorie count is 210 approximately, with calorie count ‘from fat’ being 90 approximately.
One receives a substantial number of biscuits inside of the pack. Each of the biscuits has an ‘adorable’ ‘Hello Panda’ design imprinted onto it. While some of the designs are, visually, not easy to decipher, they, nonetheless, add an element of ‘fun’ to one’s consumption of the product.
Upon taste, the outer biscuit can be inferred as generic biscuit, with appropriate sweetness and ‘crunch’ to it in terms of flavour and texture respectively. It should, however, not be disregarded. It serves as a ‘vessel’ for the ‘filling’ to ‘shine’ through.
While the ‘filling’ is, rightfully, named ‘Milk’ on the product’s outer packaging, it can be interpreted as ‘Sweet Cream’. It is not sweet to the extent of being comparable to ‘Whipped Cream’ or ‘Cream’ present inside of ‘Sandwich Biscuits’ or ‘Cookies’, but does deliver on the ‘natural’ flavour of dairy-based ‘Milk’ (which, itself, bears a distinct sweetness characteristically). Its texture can be understood as if a ‘cross’ of sorts between being ‘airy’ and ‘creamy’.
The two components together create a product, which is, good enough as a viable ‘sweet snack’ option.
Overall, this product makes for a decent purchase.
